More Views of La Drova

The character of the area is gradually changing. Some local roads now have street lighting and a lot of the newer properties are very large and take up a greater proportion of the plot they have been built on ...this makes parts of La Drova look and feel more like an urbanisation. So far, the beauty of the surrounding countryside is an effective counter to this.

La Drova went through a phase of being a place where affluent Spanish people bought holiday homes ...but lately there has been an influx of English-speaking people (about forty households).

I spent a few months (during 2002) carefully translating a local information leaflet concerning Barx and the area. You can view the results using the link below.

I hand delivered the translation to the town hall ...addressed to the mayor. I didn't get a reply..

By some strange coincidence a new leaflet (in English) is now available.

I checked with Gandía's Tourist Information office and they had none of the leaflets. Barx Council seems to be about the only source and they have no email address. If you are very keen to get one of these leaflets then download the pre-prepared letter I have at this link and send it off using snail mail ...you might get a reply!

PANORAMAS

Sometimes I get a little carried away with this web site and the latest addition is panoramic views of the area. There are some views that just one photograph cannot do justice to. So I have joined several photos together to make a scrolling panorama. The download time on these panoramas is not that great if you're using a standard 56k modem

This branch of the web site is still under development and currently features a handful of spectacular panoramic mountain views of the immediate area. If I carry on like this I'm going to have to upgrade the capacity of this web site!! Click on the green icon (right) to enter the Panorama Pages.
