This web site has a fairly exhaustive list of street markets ...well worth looking at. Just click here!

Narrow streets that end in a view of the surrounding mountains are a familiar feature of Barx ...complete strangers will say hello to you as the local people are very friendly!

You will often see houses that have the outside either half tiled or completely tiled ...the reason is very simple--you don't have to paint tiles!

You may have been wondering what 'Forn' means (you won't find it in your dictionary because it comes from the local dialect (Valenciano) ...it means 'bakers.'

Valenciano is arguably a dialect of Catalan and shares many words with French. If you are in the village, stuck for the right word for something in Spanish and have some French ...then try using it!
