This is a first for me; I wasn't sure how an x-ray would scan, but grabbed the opportunity to try during yesterday evening. Stephanie took this x-ray plate off to my doctor's surgery this morning and I wasn't sure whether they were going to want to keep it.

To save you the bother of counting the number of screws; there are a total of nine ...seven through the metal plate being used to hold my fibula together, what looks like a transverse bolt (just above the bottom plate screw) and a damn great long thing holding my tibia together.

I have got used to all the jokes about my ankle setting off airport security alarms and have listened with new interest to tales of people picking up radio stations with bodily metalwork of this kind. As yet, I have not been woken by the faint strains of "Voice of America" emanating from my lower left leg ...wouldn't it be awful if I finished up with one of those dreadful American Evangelical Christian stations?
