Why not complete your trip to Jalon by driving just that little bit further to Altea? After a morning's rummaging and sampling the wine, just press on a little further to this picturesque seaside town.

The palm-lined promenade boasts a very large selection of restaurants (one even serves 'Sushi'), with marvellous sea views! You can sit out the early part of the Siesta, watch the Mediterranean Sea break over the rocks and  savour the onshore breeze.

Later, you can stroll around the Old Town and take in the quaint charm of its narrow and steep streets. Take care, because you cannot drive all the way up the hill to the Old Town and parking can be a bit of a problem.

Should you hear explosions on a Saturday afternoon then do not be alarmed ...it's probably a wedding. The Spanish people let off fireworks at the least provocation and weddings are certainly included in this!
